How the Trip Works
From arrival in Alaska to stepping into the wilderness — here’s exactly how your journey unfolds.
Fly to Anchorage, Alaska
Guests start by flying into Anchorage.

This is Alaska’s main international airport and is easy to reach from most major U.S. cities.
Travel to Seward
From Anchorage, guests travel to Seward, the coastal town where flights depart to the lodge.

Options include:
* Rental car (most popular)
* Shuttle service
* Train ride through the mountains
* Private ride or Uber

Travel time: about 2.5 hours

Fly Into the Wilderness
Guests then take a scenic bush flight to the lodge.

The flight itself is an unforgettable part of the trip — glaciers, mountains, fjords, and coastline.
Flight time: 20–30 minutes
Arrive at Hotel Middle of Nowhere
You land directly in Johnstone Bay in the middle of the wild Kenai Fjords.
When guests arrive:
